Font of the Week

Overview about Tangerine

Tangerine is a font inspired by Chancery Hand, a type of handwriting from the 16th and 17th centuries. The Chancery Hand handwriting found during time is influenced by the Carolingian Minuscule, a scriptwriting style known as the calligraphic standard in the Medieval European Period, commonly found on gospel books and manuscripts.

How to use Tangerine for logo?

Tangerine is graceful and nostalgic. Its Carolingian Minuscule influence brings a classic feel. The bold weight is more logo-friendly because it is more legible on small scales.

How to use Tangerine for marketing and branding?

Tangerine is the perfect display font for shorter marketing copies in holiday graphics. Its large ascender gives it an extra dose of gracefulness. Because of its tall ascenders and short height in x-height, it’s not reading-friendly for longer paragraph text. You can pair it with Noto Sans for longer texts.

SEO Keyword Analysis

I have been learning more about SEO, especially keyword research and how to generate a good list of keywords for your business. In this issue, I would like to share a few tools that help develop a list of keywords.

All of these tools contain free plans and allow you to search a particular keyword and see related keywords and their search traffics.

Wordtracker

This is my favorite one because it is simple to use.

Moz.com

In addition to showing you data about search terms, Moz has educational resources about SEO for beginners and intermediates.

Keyword Surfer

This free Chrome plugin shows you a specific keyword’s search volume as you search. It’s handy because you can quickly lookup a keyword’s traffic rather than using another app.
